Area State Parks
Deer Lake State Park is located to the east of the community. The park shares its name with the coastal dune lakes within its boundaries. Coastal dune lakes are extremely rare worldwide and in the United States they occur only along the Gulf Coast. Enjoy hiking and biking trails that wind through thet park. It's also an excellent location to view wildlife.
Located west of WaterSound West Beach, Grayton Beach State Park is known for its incomparable natural beauty. The Grayton Beach scenic nature trail circles sand dunes, skirts Western Lake and cuts through a scrub oak and magnolia hammock.

Golf
Looking for challenging and outstanding golf courses? Named "Course of the Millennium" by Travel + Leisure magazine, Camp Creek Golf Club, is a Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole, par 72 championship course measuring 7,159 yards and is sure to provide the challenge for which you're looking. Designed by Greg Norman, Shark's Tooth was named one of "America's Best Residential Courses" by Golfweek. It stretches 7,209 yards from the back tees and features five fairways that border scenic Lake Powell. The Origins Golf Club at WaterSound strives to make golf more fun and accessible to families, beginners and casual golfers, offering a six-hole regulation course that alternatively plays as a nine-hole executive course and a 10-hole par-three layout.
Biking
The state parks and Point Washington State Forest's Eastern Lake Bike Trail offer great scenery. If you prefer a paved path, you can enjoy the picturesque journey on the Timpoochee Trail running for 18.6 miles along Scenic 30-A.

WaterColor's Town Center, which is about 4 miles west, offers a wide variety of locally-owned shops where you can purchase men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as accessories, art and gifts, reserve a fishing charter, create a custom teddy bear, or enjoy a cup of coffee, tapas or wine.
A Publix grocery store is less than 4 miles away at WaterColor Crossing where there is also a Wine and Spirits store, Pizzeria, Dry Cleaners and UPS store.
At nearby Seaside you can reach shops, restaurants, art galleries and more. Heading east 15 miles is Pier Park, a premier shopping and dining destination in Panama City Beach. Silver Sands Factory Stores, the nation's largest designer outlet center with over 100 designer name stores, is just 18 miles west toward Destin.
